Our Story

In the fall of 2015, Dana began introducing and mentoring Renee in the event management and culinary arts industry. Their four-year working relationship developed into a mutual respect and unique trust for one another, resulting in their decision to work on a new creative project together. Thus, The Grand Courtyard was established.

Dana Ray

Dana is a native of Los Angeles, California, and has always been an entrepreneur. She was the proprietor of a salon for over 20 years in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Her passion for event management and culinary arts motivated her, in 2008, to open a successful catering company called J’s Favorites Catering, which specialized in catering for exclusive private events. To further her knowledge of business and food preparation, Dana attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College in Pasadena, California, where she earned a degree in the culinary arts. She also has a bachelor of arts degree in business management with an emphasis on small business management and entrepreneurship.

Dana brings her knowledge of planning and organizing special events from working with a variety of high-profile catering companies and engaging with some of the city’s top event venues. She has worked for Wolfgang Puck Catering Company, where they created exquisite catered dinners for high-profile events such as the annual Governors Ball.

Dana oversees all of the operational and creative directions of the venue as well as sales and marketing.

Renee Rascoe

Renee discovered her passion for event and party planning while coordinating corporate and private events at high-profile local venues, estates, and museums in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from California State University, Fullerton in business administration, with an emphasis in advertising.

In 1980, Renee started her professional career in the motion-picture entertainment industry. She has held positions as an advertising coordinator at a local theater chain, a marketing and advertising administrator at a motion-picture studio, and managed and oversaw corporate business affairs at an interactive marketing/advertising entertainment agency.

Renee oversees all of the administrative responsibilities, coordinating and party planning, and assists with the operational and creative directions of the venue.
